WE ARE CREATING SOME OF THE FINEST WINES PRODUCED IN VIRGINIA
The founders planted the first vines in 2001, finally realizing their dream of opening a winery in New Kent County, Virginia. From the beginning a full variety of vines have been planted including Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Norton, Virginia’s native grape. Each wine is unique and yet fully representative of its variety.
A MODERN WINERY WITH ROOTS IN VIRGINIA’S PAST
Celebrating the very best of Virginia Wine Country, the New Kent winery building was designed by architect John Hopke to reflect an earlier time when winemaking was common in the New Kent, Virginia region, and to reflect the green values of the overall community. Much of the winery was built using eco-friendly materials that were reclaimed from buildings and structures well over a century old, including 40-foot heart of pine trusses, reprocessed copper, and even pre-Civil War brick. And yet our winery is equipped with the most advanced technology from the great winemaking regions of the world, which allows us to create impeccable, award-winning wine from our own grapes.
