Our 12,000 square-foot winery reflects the founders’ deep sense of commitment to the fundamentals of winemaking and their sense of responsibility for the environment, history, and culture of Virginia. Much of the winery was built using eco-friendly materials that were reclaimed from buildings and structures well over a century old, including 40-foot heart of pine trusses, reprocessed copper, and even pre-Civil War brick.
The first vines were planted in 2001, and from the beginning a full variety have been planted including Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Norton, Virginia’s native grape. Each wine is unique and yet fully representative of its variety. Our winery is equipped with the most advanced technology from the great winemaking regions of the world.
