Patrick and Kathryn Horsley are all about savoring the good life at Viniterra. Patrick and his wife Kathryn relish time with their son Cole who is 16 months old, and their toy schnauzer, Mulligan, who is 7 years old.

Patrick Horsley is a sales representative for Viniterra, but in his free time, he enjoys running not only for exercise, but also because of the peace and serenity offered by the neighborhood. He is currently training for a half marathon that will be taking place in Viniterra this May; it’s called the Uncorked Half marathon. Patrick’s other hobby is golfing. Viniterra is a golf course community, which means residents like the Horsleys live steps from the tee box, which couldn’t be any more perfect for Patrick. He is often on the course with fellow neighbors having a good time and trying to keep his handicap in the single digits.

Kathryn Horsley is the owner of Events by Kathryn, an event-coordinating firm. While this has been her passion since 2010, becoming a mom has truly been her greatest accomplishment. Kathryn has always had an eye for design and her favorite hobby is decorating and finding the perfect piece for the space.

The Horsleys found themselves in Viniterra after an exhaustive real estate search several years ago. When considering places to move, Patrick wanted privacy and acreage, while Kathryn wanted the subdivision feel. They scoured the Richmond and Williamsburg market and couldn’t find anything that fit the bill. One drive into the Viniterra community and they knew they had found their home. The one-acre lots provided Patrick with the privacy he wanted, and the subdivision was perfect for the neighborhood feel Kathryn was looking for; it was a match made in heaven. After hearing about the plans for the community, and learning more about the developer, it solidified their initial feelings.

Today, as residents, the Horsley family’s favorite amenity of the Viniterra community is the New Kent Winery. “Being right outside the gates of our community, the winery is a great place to walk to and mingle with our friends. The views are spectacular and the building is by far the best-constructed winery we have ever visited. It is awesome to bring friends who are visiting and have never been to the area. They can’t believe that we have it in our backyard.”

The tagline for Viniterra pretty much sums up the daily life here, Savor Life. “With the fast pace world beyond the neighborhood, we get to come home and relax with a glass of wine and wonderful neighbors. Time slows down and we can enjoy the serenity of the neighborhood. We will go on walks through the neighborhood as a family and talk with neighbors along the way.” The Horsley family is truly savoring life at Viniterra.
