There are numerous pay and public boat launches in the area that lead into the James or Chickahominy Rivers, or provide easy access to lakes or reservoirs.

10 minutes from Viniterra is a public boat launch to the Mattaponi River. The Mattaponi, a fresh water river that feeds the York River, features power and sail boating, fishing and all water sport activities.

20 minutes West of Viniterra is the Jordan Point Marina and Yacht haven. This is a full service marina, located on the James River. This marina and river depth, can accommodate 50+ foot vessels. The James River offers year round fishing and water sports.

20 minutes North of Viniterra is the York River. This area features multiple public boat launches. The York feeds directly to the Chesapeake Bay and features year-round fishing, boating and water sports.
